PCI Express low profile serial cards offer a high-speed, serial I/O bus
that maintains backwards capability with PCI applications and drivers.
The layered architecture supports existing PCI applications and drivers
by maintaining compatibility with the existing PCI model. Defined by high
performance, scalable, serial bus, PCI Express Cards are dedicated to the
device while multiple PCI Express devices can be active without interfering
with each other.
The DSLP-PCIE-100 is configured to fit into low profile systems using one
PC slot. It has a fanout cable to connect two serial devices, supports hot
swapping, plug-n-play connections.

About PCI Express Card Technology

have the same dimensions and are equipped with rear brackets. But, the
difference lies in the I/O connectors. PCI Express has 36 pins versus the 120
pins on a standard PCI connector.
